United Expands Flight Schedule to Chicago and Adds Dulles International Airport
In order to meet increased passenger demand at State College Regional Airport, United is adding flights and service!
Effective May 6th, United will be adding a third daily flight to Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD). This is one of our most popular routes! In addition to allowing for convenient business and leisure travel to the Windy City, it also provides ample opportunities to connect to the world!
In addition, effective June 27th, United is adding service to Dulles International Airport (IAD). This new route will replace the service to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). Notably, in a 2022 JD Power study that scored scoring airport “satisfaction,” Dulles International received the highest score among the DC-area airports. Ranked alongside 27 large airports in North America, Dulles clinched the 11th spot on the list.
The IAD schedule will be twice daily and increase to three times daily in August served by a Commute AirEmbraer 145, which is a comfortable 50-seat jet. The following schedule will provide ample opportunities for making connections.

Depart 3:05, arrive 3:58
IAD-SCE:
Depart 1:00, arrive 2:02
Depart 5:48, arrive 6:54
“We are continually working with the airlines to create the most efficient options for our travelers,” said James Meyer, executive director of the Centre County Airport Authority. “Although staffing issues continue to be an issue in the airline industry, we’re optimistic that these new flight options will benefit our travelers making connections on international and south routes. We look forward to providing this new option, as we continue to build State College Regional Airport into a transportation hub.”
